Have you ever wondered what it
would be like to be in outer space? During this class project each of you will divide into groups of four, this will
be your "crew". Each crew member does something special to help with this project. Each "crew" will have their
own planet to learn about and then report back to Space Control about (the rest of the class). Now if you are ready
for take-off, fasten your seat belts, and away we GO!!!!
The websites listed below are there to help you with your research on your
individual planets. With the help of these websites, books, and other resources you should answer the following questions:
1. What does your planet look like?
2. What is the size of your planet?
3. How long does it take to get to your planet?
4. Does your planet have another name?
5. What was the average temperture on your planet?
6. Do you think anything could live on this planet?
These questions will be answered in a report to the head of mission control (Ms. Geiser) at the
end of your journey.
Along with the paper:
- There needs to be a model of the planet made (be creative use paper mache', any thing that
shows what the planet looks like).
- A drawing of your space suit and shuttle that you used to get to the planet (Kidpix may be used
for this).
Each will be presented in a press conference after the trip-each member of the crew must discuss
the trip, since all did a part of the research (Whether they enjoyed to trip, would go back, and any interesting
facts someone may have found out).
